My work is a conversation with the past—an attempt to remember what history neglects and to honour the quiet power of everyday lives. I draw from my Igbo heritage, oral traditions, and the rituals that shaped my upbringing to create forms that are not only visual but spiritual. Through sculpture, relief, and painting, I give voice to cultural memory, crafting bodies and symbols that carry the weight of stories often left untold.
I am fascinated by how objects hold meaning across generations—how a calabash, a scar, a fisherman’s bag, or the curve of a carved limb can speak of survival, dignity, and forgotten wisdom. My creative process is intuitive and meditative, guided by both ancestral presence and the raw texture of my materials. I treat wood, pigment, and canvas not just as surfaces, but as living vessels—capable of transmitting emotion, memory, and myth.
Themes of identity, resilience, displacement, and belonging run through my work. Each figure I create is an archive. Each piece is both a remembrance and a resistance—a refusal to let culture fade quietly. In everything I make, I search for that moment when silence breaks and memory speaks—boldly, beautifully, and on its own terms.
